Nilgiri Mountain Railway in India (2014)

Although the Furka Railway in Switzerland is the 'twin' of the Dalat line there is another line in the south of India which is very similar in many respects.

The following photographs were taken in 2014.

  1. Pictures are very beautiful. Thanks for sharing. The Nilgiri Mountain Railway that chugs at about 10.4 km per hour is made for those who are not in a hurry. Perhaps, the slowest train in the whole of India, it connects Ooty to Mettupalayam, which lies at the foothills of the Nilgiris. Check out all mountain railways in India also.
